MEDITERRANEAN DIET BASED ON SERVAN – SCHREIBER METHOD
Everybody has carcinogenic cells in the body. Everybody can avoid them become active, thanks to our natural defences. This is what the French psychiatrist and researcher David Servan-Schreiber advices in his book “Anticancer, a new lifestyle”, presented in a meeting organized with the “Lega Italiana per la lotta contro i tumori (the Italian league for the fight against cancer”. The scientist explains “every person can create his anti-cancer biology, stimulating our defences. Toxins, diet, emotions and physical activity are the basis of this method constituting the new way for science and research”. This book has already become a best-seller in France, Holland, Spain and Israel. “We are living in a period where cancer is a sort of plague” Servan-Schreiber adds and underlines that this disease started after the Second World War “when our life-style began to change”. A plague spreading in all those countries with a western life-style: even Chile, Argentina and Israel. This research states that our life-style plays an important role in this disease and cancer can’t only have genetic origins. We can protect from environmental troubles, changing over all our diet – the diet proposed by Servan-Schreiber is very near to the Mediterranean diet. Olive oil, white meat, fish (sardines, anchovies, smoked hearings and salmon) five times per week at least, eggs, milk-products, vegetable and fruit at every meal, nuts, herbs, pulses, integral rice are the key-food of the diet proposed in the book. There is also the interior aspect not to forget, the doctor remembers “Understand and overcome psychological troubles feeding the biologic mechanisms of neoplasia and improve the relation to our body to stimulate our defences to calm inflammations that usually favour cancer” these are key-elements for the author who reveals to have defeated brain-cancer twice. The President of the Cancer League of Rome, Edmondo Terzoli commented” I read this volume as it was a novel and I’m sure this book will achieve people’s hearth to make them change their life-style”.
