Experimental project on traceability from Teramo
The main goals of Agrogeo trace (AGT) project (promoted by the province of Teramo, Chieti and Teramo university and by the association for Local Autonomies of Abruzzo) are to inform the citizens from Abruzzo on the origin of food products consumed, and provide the farmers with data on agricultural productions, useful to improve their presence on the market. This project has been realised inside the U.E. initiative Interreg. 3° C, particularly as a part of Grisi project. This is a pilot- project about the traceability of agricultural products, which allows to look at the data bank of the olive oil and cheese production chains, the digital-terrestrial platform (now an experimentation is going on channel 46 "IN+" of TUQ1, from 2 to 6 a.m. and from 11 to 15 p.m.) the mobile phone and the palmtop. The technological platform has been built around an internet portal (h.ttp.aqt.udanet.it) that can be consulted to have more information about the project and know the farms checked so far. The working team of Agt has in fact detected two typical agricultural fields for the area of Teramo: the olive oil and cheese production in general, with pecorino cheese (a typical cheese made of sheep milk), this particular project is still in its experimentation phase. The ultimate data- bank will be consulted in future through a portal led by the region and still under construction.
