Oil: national exhibition for Matera and the area of Metaponto

From the Sassi (the stones of Matera) to piazza del Campo (a famous place in Siena) through Trevi Fountain (in Rome). This is the promotion way of the extra virgin olive oil of the province of Matera that was guest- star of the Twelfth National Week of the oil organized in Siena by Enoteca Italiana and the national association Città dell'olio.
In the province of Matera about 42 thousand quintal oil are produced every year, traded with different prices from €3.6 to 20 per litre for the extra-virgin olive oil that is being appreciated even abroad. A national introduction for the top-quality agro food from Apulia where - Carmine Nigro (the president of the province of Matera) has said - we have taken part enthusiastically, carrying on our promotion project of the extra-virgin olive oil and all the typical local products from the agro-food district of Metapontino, the Cosvicomm (the Association for the development of hill and mountain in Matera), the Association of bread- makers from Matera and the Association for the care of doc wine from Matera. To improve and enlarge the fruit and vegetable production of Metaponto "the province of Matera said Salvatore Martelli -" in the next six months is going to approve the project of "rural district" which will improve tourism and horse tourism by opening museums about rural life and by recovering old works, such as the blacksmith specialized into horseshoes.
