Oil: Along Garda 80% of Lombardy Production
More than 3500 hectares of olive-trees in production in the province of Brescia, (34%) implants of transformation of the olives where there is some products that shifts from 15% to 18%, the annual production of 500 quintals of extra virgin olive oil ( certified as PDO by the EU: these are some of the positive data that will be shown in the next AIPOL congress in Brescia, the association of oil-producers, taking place next Monday in Puegnago del Garda (BS). The theme of this meeting- is explained in a communication of Italian oil consort UNAPROL- will be extra virgin olive oil, the olive oil giving value to the value of the land, a very current theme chosen by the oil producers to support the development of local identities. The 3.500 hectares ‘ land are over 80% of the whole Lombard production, with 4.000 hectares and 610.000 olive trees, divided in the land: about 450.000 on the Garda lake (BS), about 120.000 on the Iseo lake and 40.000 on the lake of Como.
