“MEDITERRANEAN PRIDE” FOR THE DEFENCE OF TYPICAL PRODUCTS

“Mediterranean Pride” was hosted in Sorrento, one of the most important areas of the Dpo oils. This was defined as the first world day on the philosophy of the Mediterranean diet, invented by Fede and Tinto, authors and presenters of ‘Decanter’, a programme on Radio 2, realized even with the support of the Ministry for Agricolture. Fede and Tinto emphasized “ the first thing we do at the moment of birth is eating, Mediterranean Pride was created just to promote food, a direct link to agriculture. Mariella Passari( manager of the assessor ship to Agriculture and productive resources of the Region Campania) affirmed: ‘I am proud to attend the seventh edition of Sirena d’oro( Golden Mermaid) prize that was testimonial of such an important message as “Mediterranean Pride”, which focused on the importance of same values belonging to us. Daniele Bianchi, a member of Mariann Fischer Boll’s cabinet announced he will bring this message to Bruxelles, thus emphasizing the Mediterranean diet. The European Commission has always coped with quality. In fact there have been some important initiatives lately: the free delivery of fruit and milk-products in the schools, the origin labels of extra virgin olive oil and the latest revision of quality politics in the agricultural field.
