COMMONS-THE RECOVER OF 60.000MQ OLIVE GROVES
The commissioner for the environmental sustainability of the range of hills of La Spezia, Laura Roceo, has spread news that within the Plan for
the use of municipal housing stock of the Common there is also a plan to recover some uncultivated fields belonging to the Common, they want to
grow them as olive fields” this initiative- Roceo has explained- stem from the awareness that the olive culture is a very important element
characterizing the landscape and culture of this area and can represent a fundamental element of economic and social improvement of this
territory”. This project providing environmental goals, to recover the olive fields belonging to the Common being abandoned for years: secular
trees to be cut and cured. The project has been given the association AS prol Liguria which has been financed by the EU. This Cooperative will
lead these works directly at no charge of the state.
The offices of the Common have censed the uncultivated fields where there are olive-trees, 60 square meters, which will be recovered.
