Health-The Mediterranean diet is not in contrast with the zone diet
The Mediterranean diet is the one advised by the experts, but it must take into consideration the last
advice, coming from the zone diet. This is being discussed today and tomorrow in Rome, at the Congress
"Science in nutrition" organized by the foundation Paolo Sorbini, with the best experts in the world. World-wide famous
experts and researchers are going to attend this two days' meeting on food and science, among them the researcher
of Mit Barry Sears, president of the Inflammation Research Foundation, the twins Bradley and Craig Willcox
Anthropologists and Gerontologists, researchers and professors of the Okinawa Centenarian Study - today 'a
comparison on diets' is being discussed, particularly the possibility to join the Mediterranean diet with the zone-diet:
"the zone-diet takes into consideration the effect of food on hormones. There has been a vivid discussion but the
general opinion is that the food of our country is good, but exaggerated quantities are bad for our health especially
for food containing a high glycolic level, that is to say the food that is quickly absorbed by our body like
the cereals contained in the pasta".
