Breast Cancer: half- an- hour daily walk reduces the risk

It has always been said that some daily physical activity helps the fight against cancer, but there is some evidence that it can be useful in the primary prevention, too – this is what the secretary of the Italian Association of Medical Oncology Marco Venturini said at the Congress of the Association in Verona “the main form of prevention for the breast cancer is the mammography – Venturini stated – but now something else is merging”. Though breast cancer is definitely wide-spread among women, in the last few years there have been very important results. “Today 80% of the patients heal, but the moment has come to think of other kinds of prevention beyond the traditional ways and to care of some aspects that only 15 years ago could seem useless”. The physical activity is among them and it can help fighting the disease with an influence of 1% - 2% : this result could seem not important in the past, but now it is very important because nine women out of 10 can be healed. We don’t know the reasons why the physical activity can have this protective effect but the most realistic hypothesis is that it is part of a healthy life-style where the physical activity is accompanied by a diet with low fat acids, without butter and pork and based on the olive oil, skimmed milk and little cheese.
