Alarm in Italy. There are the end-of- the month obese

The trolley loses weight, the Italians get fatter and there are also “the obese of the end of the month”: Fat affects the Italian people because now the bill is taken into consideration more than health .This is the alarm launched by Giuseppe Fatati, the President of ADI ( the Italian Association for clinic diet and nourishment), during the presentation of the “ Obesity day” , promoted by ADIPER on the10th October all over Italy with open hospitals and free screenings.
This army of the obese of the-end-the-month increases the number of Italians having problems with weight. This is the alarm: in Italy 18 men out of 100 and 22 women out of 100 are obese: a phenomenon involving all the men from North-East, South and the islands. The women from the South, the centre and the isles have the same problem.
This kind of obese are increasing because fruit, vegetable and olive oil are less used. In order to spare some money, quality is decreasing, too: in fact we use packaged food, rich in fat and sugar. On the average, in Italy 18% of the men and 22% of the women are obese; the measure of hips is usually 95 centimetres for men and 85 centimetres for women.; the circumference of hips is 101 cm for men and 88 cm for women.
According to the European guide-lines the circumference shouldn’t go over 102 cm for men and 88 cm for women.
The regions with the highest number of over-weight men are Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Molise, Umbria, Sicily with a percentage reaching 23% for men and 30% for women. Some regions have butter levels: Piemonte (12%), Marche(13%), Trentino A.A. (13%) e Toscana (15%). In the middle there are Abruzzo, Campania, Puglia and Emilia –Romagna where there is a strong gap between men and women who have more problems with weight. On the average in Italy 18% of men and , 22% of women are obese. The body circumference is 95 cm for men and 85 cm for women; the hips’ measure is 101 cm both for men and for women. According to the EU guidelines the body circumference shouldn’t overcome 101cm for men and 88 cm for women. The fat-map, divided into geographic areas, records in the North-East 19% of men and 18% of women as obese and 52% of men and 35% of the women are overweight : in North West 15% of men and 16% of women are obese and 45% of men and 29% of women are overweight; in the Centre 16% of men and 19% of women are obese while50% of men and 37% of women are overweight , finally in the South and in the isle 19% of the men and 31% of women are obese while 52% of the men and 36% of the women are overweight. The regions with the highest number of obese women is Basilicata (38%) followed by Calabria, Apulia and Sicily (34%) while Campania( 38%), Abruzzo(30%), Molise(27%), Friuli Venezia Giulia(23%), Umbria (21%),Emilia-Romagna (19%), Lazio (19%9, Liguria (19%), Toscana (19%), Valle d’Aosta (18%), Veneto (17%), Lombardia (17%), TrentinoAlto Adige (16%), Marche (15%), Sardinia (14%).The slimmest woman lives in Piemonte (13%).The men count more obese are Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Molise, Sicilia , Umbria (23%) followed by Friuli Venezia Giulia (21%), Valle d’ Aosta (20%), Abruzzo (18%), Campania (18%), Lombardia (17%), Basilicata (16%), Lazio(16%), Liguria (16%), Puglia(16%), Sardinia(16%), Veneto(16%), Toscana(15%9, Trentino Alto Adige(13%), Marche(13%9. Even the slimmest men live in Piemonte (12%).
