For example this is a 1962 calories’ meal: BREAKFAST: 200 ml of skimmed milk and 200 grams handmade cake: LUNCH: 320 grams pasta with 400 grams red tomatoes and 40 grams parmigiano, 480 grams chicken and 400 grams green salad with 200 grams bread, 80 grams extra-virgin olive oil and 600 grams fruit; DINNER: 200 grams pasta, 400 grams bread, 240 grams raw ham, 800 grams vegetable dressed with 60 grams extra-virgin olive oil and finally 600 grams fruit. Those who have problems with their weight, should reduce bread. On 10th October the “Obesity Day” will be celebrated with open hospitals for free screenings. The project “Obesity Day” involves the “ADI ( diet services, and clinic nutrition, land services and Obesity centres ) in the specific field of cure and prevention of Obesity and overweight. On 10th October people can address the centres joining the initiative and, beyond a free screening made by a doctor or a dentist, some indications to take the first step towards fitness can be provided. The 2008 Obesity Day slogan is: “Don’t jump from size to size. Keep your weight!”. The experts say: “We have chosen this message because a lot of people, almost all, don’t know that one of the secrets of wellness is maintaining our ideal weight, you can reach with a correct diet. If the right weight is not maintained and shifts continuously, you won’t lose weight, you will get fatter and fatter”. Doctors call it “weight cycling syndrome”. A common syndrome in Italy. There is evidence that 30 people out of 100 going to a specialized centre for Obesity, are victims of this syndrome.
