ISMEA (National Institute for Statistics) about oil: the quality is the market input

The new production of olive oil in Sicily is starting to liven up according to the data of the ISMEA, in the second part of november Sicily was more dynamic than before. Demand was probably spurred by the excellent quality of the product.
In most areas acidity levels are low and they have improved, even if the rain of this week has partly watered the fruits. The consequent changes in quantity makes the gap between highest and lowest prices wider (40-80 € per q.). In the area of Messina there is a lack of quotations due to the lack of new or old production.
