Food: the origin of bottled oil in a SMS

You need only a sms to know the history of the bottle you have just bought.This is not the last news read in the internet, but the idea launched by the biggest oil producers in Sardinia led by the association of oil producers from Sassari (Appos), that after transforming into cooperative, has begun a plan for the certified traceability of the production – chain. Pietro Pulinas producer and president of Appos explained: “ the working plan provided three regulated production-chain tecniques: two about short-term production (in short a farm with its own oil-mill) and one with external oil-mill; another one of middle-term production-chain, an oil-mill with several contributing farms. Everything was cheked according to a regulation involving producers, oil-mills and “ bottlers”.
The conformity check, based on the traceability system of the certification authority CSQA is a guarantee for the final consumer through the respect of certain rules shown by a certification. The procedure is simple. Every bottle is given a label with the Appos and the certification authority logos and the traceability codex of the lot, composed as follows: by the letter “ T ”signalling that the oil is traced, the first three numbers showing the order-number of bottling in the year, the second three numbers pointing to the day of the year and the last two numbers, to the year of production.
