Agricolture and food: an olive oil workshop in Amsterdam

The olive oil workshop in Amsterdam was attended by 14 producers coming from Campania, Apulia, Abruzzo, Umbria, Tuscania, Liguria and Lombardia (all Italian regions). The Institute of Foreign Trade of the Dutch city emphatised the importance of Italy as first oil exporter towards the Low Countries (market rate 31%), followed by Spain (29 %). The per- capite consumption of olive oil is 600 gr a year in 2006, more than doubled in comparison to the 80s. After the workshop and the oil-tasting, Italian producers and dutch importers continued their works. Finally the institute for Italian culture organized an informative seminar on the olive-oil, where people cuold taste it.
