Oil: "Yellow Gold" awards at Rimini

During the International show of the extra virgin olive oil (at Riminifiera), the awards for the yellow-gold extra virgin olive oil concourse were assigned. Sicily was awarded with lots of prizes (3 over 9) because today this region has the 7% of the national bulk of the product ( 366.251 tons) and it is certainly one of the most important areas for the production of the yellow gold in general. Even Apulia got two prizes( with its 2.093.226 tons-over 40 %of the whole Italian production) and Emilia Romagna, represented by two enterprises from Rimini.

  • Light fruity oil list: 'Principe' extra-virgin olive oil (olive farm Maria Cristina Bisceglia- Foggia); 'Spontaneo' extra-virgin olive oil (terra d'Otranto di Palmariggi - Lecce); 'Consolio' extra-virgin olive oil Consorzio Agrario Interprovinciale from Forlì, Cesena and Rimini - Forlì.
  • Medium-fruity oil list: extra virgin olive oil 'Baglio Ingardia'var. Nocellara Baglio Ingardia di Paceco (from Trapani): extra-virgin bio- oil 'Villa Ponte di Chiaromonte Gulfi farm' from Ragusa; 'Emozione extra-virgin olive oil Decimi di Bettona farm ( from Perugia).
  • Intense fruity list: "Erbesso" Dop extra-virgin olive oil-Monti Iblei Gulino olive farm from Chiaromonte Gulfi( Ragusa); 'San Martino' Extravirgin olive oil -Mattia Persiani farm from Atri (Teramo); 'Mostò' extravirgin olive oil by Pasquinoni olive farm from Coriano (Rimini).
