OIL, ISMEA:10% PRODUCTION INCREASE

In Italy the olive oil production is going to grow up to 10% every year. This production was made by ISMEA, leading a survey in November with the help of the Unions of Producers ( AIPO,CNO,UNAPOL,UNAPROL,UNASCO), the production has reched 6,3 million quintals in the 2008/2009 campaign compared to last year’s ones(5,7million) this increase, even if spread all over the country, is particularly important in the centre of Italy whose regions had had some loses last year, due to bad weather .As the regions are regarded this increase is confirmed in Apulia, Sicily and Sardinia(+5%). In Campania the increase will be between 10% and !5%, or bigger increases in Molise( +20-25%). In the centre of Italy the best result goes to Tuscany( +35%), good increases even in Umbria( +30%), Lazio and Abruzzo(+30-35%) and Marche(+25-30%).In the North Liguria has good results raging from 60 to 65%; Veneto(+30%).
