Eco-energy: a photovoltaic implantation is the biggest in Italy
The eco-energy reaches also the oil-mills. The olive mill of the Agricultural Society Trevi, at Torre Metigge, is equipped with an implantation
inaugurated today. It is the first in Umbria and the biggest in Italy; it is able to rule the whole working process of the extra-virgin olive oil.
It embodies 400 panels put on the roof in one integrated way that is to say without any environmental impact, and it produces energy to be used
for km 90 a day exploiting sun energy. It will grant this enterprise the energetic self-independence for 30 years.’ Eco technology’ from Grisand
in the Province of Vicenza realized it. Angelo Guidobaldi, the President of the Agricola Trevi “Il Frantoio”, underlined proudly: “we are the
first mill in Italy with a small energy station, thanks to a never ending and unspooling source represented by the sun. With this power plant we
are able to wholly provide the electric needs of the productive process. Through this system we have not only avoided completely the costs of
energy but in summer we can sell Enel this energy, thus having also an income. Every year we spend € 15000 for energy – this saving – he explained
– avoids us to cause unemployment and allows us to be competitive on the market. Certainly it has been an expensive good investment but we hope
to have a feed-back within the next 8-10 years”.
